Last month we asked you to pray because we were behind on our budget. PTL!!!
You prayed and the Lord answered! We received several significant gifts along with many other donations and we are now headed in the right direction!
We praise the Lord and thank you for praying and giving! Please continue to ask the Lord to supply all of the resources we need to carry on these vital ministries for the missionaries the Lord sends our way.
As we’ve said before, the most frequent request we get from missionaries is for a car to use during their stay in the states. MRC owns three vehicles and they are almost always on the road. Even so, we receive many requests we are not able to fulfill.
Our vehicles are all older with lots of miles but we try to keep them in good condition. A few weeks ago a veteran missionary who has served many years in Africa and was driving our 1995 Volvo Station Wagon wrote:
“Thx again, dear John. The Volvo is running ultra fine. PTL. At times it feels like I am riding on a Cadillac, bless your heart, Ruth 2:12.”
About a year ago someone gave us a 2003 Honda Odyssey van. Up until that time, we did not have a vehicle which would accommodate a family of six. Since then at least 3 different families have used it, each having 4 children. Last week one of those families from Southeast Asia purchased a new set of good quality tires and also paid for a couple of other repairs as a gift to MRC valued at over $600. Praise the Lord! Our vehicles are very much appreciated!
We are also very thankful for a local auto repair shop which has done major repairs for MRC but has charged very little for labor.
We are asking the Lord to give us creative ideas to care for the general maintenance, ie. inspections and oil changes, for the vehicles. This tends to require quite a commitment of time. If you know of anyone in our local area who would like to minister to missionaries by helping to maintain MRC's vehicles, let us know!
Please pray for wisdom as we pursue insurance for our fleet of cars. We are a unique client and we need to find the right company who will provide the protection that is required for our type of ministry.
Last week Linn and I spent nearly five days with a missionary who served in Asia and had been through some very rough times.
What a privilege it is for us to spend time with these precious servants of the Lord and help them process and unpack what they've been through and then to see the Lord meet and encourage them!
Relaxing on the water was very therapeutic for the gal we debriefed!
